  1. Lou Minatti says:

RIM is selling a lot of smartphones but they have no answer to iTunes. That is Apple’s real competitive edge.

  2. John Paradox says:

    RE: CTO

Obama’s looking for someone who actually paid their taxes?

    J/P=?

  3. GregA says:

So… The Kindle is a black and white PDA???

  4. Lou Minatti says:

Pedro, who said anything about music? I am talking about the entire iTunes experience – movies, music, video, and most of all, apps. No one comes even REMOTELY close to what Apple is offering.

The smartphone is the future platform. PC’s and laptops are toast. Very soon we will dock our smartphones to a dumb keyboard/mouse and HDTV and bypass the PC. It’s no longer necessary. What has happened is a 180 degree turn from 20 years ago, when people were reluctant to buy a Mac because “all of the software is written for the PC.” Well, now almost all of the smartphone apps are written for the iPhone/Touch.

It’s no longer a contest between Microsoft and Apple. It’s a race between Apple and Palm and RIM and Nokia and (maybe, if they can get their merde together) Google.

The PC is dead! Good effing riddance.

    #6,

Usually im pretty snarky, but after reading your comment I can’t tell if you are joking or being serious, and I didn’t want to go off if you were joking around, and put all that effort into it.

You are at least half joking right?

I think Pedro was talking about media in general…the fact that you use Itunes for any media at all tells me you either like to fluff apples ding a ling or you don’t know “merde” about tech

  7. stopher says:

Reading the views of some authors like Neil Gaimen, apparently the laywers for the Author’s Guild are more irked than the actual authors.

  8. Glenn E. says:

Darwin never had an answer about the evolution of the eye.

`When Darwin’s skeptics attack his theory of evolution, they often focus on the eye. Darwin himself confessed that it was “absurd” to propose that the human eye evolved through spontaneous mutation and natural selection.’

Yet this didn’t stop him for asserting that he was right, and religion was wrong. It’s a good thing that God figured out how to make eyeballs. Or we’d have to wait until the 21th Century to have them.

  9. hhopper says:

The Kindle is selling like hot cakes because it’s a terrific device. I use mine every day. It can automatically download most any newspaper or magazine for you while you sleep… and the electronic ink is much easier to read than an LCD screen. Eventually, these devices will be in color and most everyone will have one. It will be great for college students. They won’t have to haul tons of books around and they will be cheaper too.

You can even surf the net on it and the EVDO connection is FREE.
