Go ahead, check the dipstick….I dare you! |
VACAVILLE, Calif. – A pit bull escapes a “ruff” situation after being found stuck inside a pickup truck engine on Tuesday. It happened in the city of Vacaville, about 30 miles west of Sacramento.
The truck’s owner said he made the discovery when he went add some power steering fluid to his vehicle. Walter Witthoeft popped the hood and said he saw a pair of eyes staring back at him. He realized a pit bull had somehow found his way into the truck’s engine compartment. The pooch growled and Witthoeft went and called police. He said the officers who arrived couldn’t believe what they were seeing either.
The dog had shredded the engine compartment, in an apparent attempt to chew his way out of his situation. Witthoeft said the pooch had bitten through the wires, vacuum hoses as well as gas lines. He said he suspects the dog got into the engine sometime Monday night and stayed there until the hood was popped.
The dog was safely removed and the truck was taken to the shop.
The owner is recovering from a mild coronary.
Poor poochie! Too bad Michael conVick wasn’t the one to pop the hood and lose his passing arm.
DOGS RULE, VICK DROOLS…ROT IN PRISON, MV!
The same thing happened to me in the cold dead of the Manitoba winter – 40 below zero
Only it was a cat under the hood and not a pit bull
Lucky for me
By the way – is it a pit bull to enhance the story or another breed of dog
The owner should of verified the breed just to be sure his story and theme is on the up and up
I bet that guys engine runs a little “Ruff”…
that truck screwed the pooch
“…found stuck inside a pickup truck engine on Tuesday.”
That’s just bad writing. He wasn’t found IN the engine. He was in the engine compartment as the article later said.
It’s the Republicans fault.
First of all, that picture is not a pit bull. It is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, from the looks of him.
Oh and then there’s the missing “to” in the first sentence, second paragraph:
“when he went add”
But what do you expect from a place called Vacaville?

“By the way – is it a pit bull to enhance the story or another breed of dog”
pit bull is a generic term for a fighting dog, the media loves to throw the term around.
The staffordshire bull terrier is a well known fighting dog (has agressive tendencies toward other dogs) that the AKC recognizes as a breed, and probably typifies the “look” of a “pit bull”.
Pit Bulls instead of Ethanol?
Who’da thunk it..
I bet that truck runs like a scalded dog.
Was it a Mack Truck?
Blame Kevin Rudd
Hey, Car Talk. Thanks for taking my call. I have an old pickup and it’s making a funny noise…
Pit bulls may be beloved by many owners, and not all pit bulls may prove to be dangerous over the course of their lives. But like a supposedly “unloaded” gun which turns out to be deadly, pit bulls undeniably have the capacity to injure and kill humans — certainly far more so than many smaller dogs. I’ve written an article on pit bull dangers which may help illuminate concerns that pit bulls are among dogs which have unusual potential to do great harm. That’s not to say each pit bull will attack someone. It is to say that many pit bulls, like the proverbial “unloaded” gun, can be dangerous.
This dog has to glad he didn’t suffer any injuries from his little accident.
