Interviewers with the Mutual UFO Network met with about 200 people who said they saw something mysterious in the night skies over Stephenville in late December and early January…

While members of the organization met Saturday with the witnesses, at least a couple hundred onlookers gathered as well, some wearing aluminum-foil hats.

Several dozen people — including a pilot, county constable and business owners — insist they have seen a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast. Some reported seeing fighter jets chasing it…

Homeland Insecurity wins again. They chased ’em away.

  1. Personality says:

Can’t the Government experiment over the desert?

  2. Very good sense of humour
Where are all the photos of ufos and aliens now that everyone seems to have a handy cell phone camera available in a flash
Might of been the Lake Manitoba Manipogo

  3. McCullough says:

C’mon, if the government said it was an illusion, then it was an illusion. Trust your gubment.

  4. Improbus says:

Those Texans really shouldn’t be ingesting peyote.

  5. Mister Apeshit says:

I thought they would have, at minimum, pumped a shotgun blast into it.

  6. OhForTheLoveOf says:

#4 – Those Texans really shouldn’t be ingesting peyote.

Actually, that would probably do a lot of good in Texas.

    This isn’t an “object”. It’s a Mirage.

  7. OhForTheLoveOf says:

I have no idea why I made “mirage” into a proper noun.

  8. Cinaedh says:

There’s nothing to fear, folks. It was just BubbaRay’s relatives, dropping in for a visit.

By the way, it’s interesting Homeland Security can chase away space invaders but they can’t stop illegal aliens from waltzing across the border.

  9. PanDaFooD says:

My favorite part was when Ricky was in the woods and he says “it was right here, three hundred FOOT up.” (My emphasis.)

  10. eyeofthetiger says:

So the FAA is still not tracking “large airliners?”

  11. Rabble Rouser says:

Those hillbillies have got to lay off the moonshine, or they’ll go blind, from staring at the sun!

  12. BubbaRay says:

#8, Cinaedh, it was just Uncle Bob dropping by for a cold one, none of that “Klaatu” nonsense.

#11, RR, Wish I had the bucks some of those hillbillies have, with their 1,000 acre ranches and million dollar houses. I can’t even afford their moonshine — it’s usually from Bordeaux and $100 a bottle.

Interestingly, Stephenville VOR is one of the “4 corners” used by DFW TRACON for air traffic. On a clear night you can see planes lined up for 50 miles coming in from the west.

Best “UFO” I’ve ever seen was a crazy guy in a huge hot air balloon at night who lit the inside of his balloon up with a laser light show. How the heck do you safely land a hot air balloon at night??

  13. iGlobalWarmer says:

Well, the Eastern Ohio Bigfoot Research Centers hasn’t weighed in yet….

  14. Ah_Yea says:

Just got the Gist from CNN. It was a training flight of fighter planes.

Why would any aliens travel quadzillions of miles to see us anyhow?

  15. SteveB says:

I’m with #2. All these people saw this thing and not one of them thought to take a picture with the camera in their POCKET! It stayed in the sky for over 5 minutes. One guy had time to run inside and get his wife and kids to come out and look at the thing, but forgot his video camera. Please. If anyone had REAL video of a REAL UFO they could probably make some money with it…

  16. pettysox says:

#14 they weren’t coming to see us. They were just dropping by the old Fort Worth AAF to collect the craft they lost over Roswell sixty years ago.

  17. Wicked Wizard says:

I found a website that says there are several photos and videos that were taken.

The video at the bottom isnt playing for me though?
