Olbermann Exposes Nexus Of Politics And Terror — This is a pretty damning piece about the BS we are subjected to by this government. It’s hurting business and the economy. This is an excellent piece of research.

During a prime time segment on his MSNBC show last night, anchor Keith Olbermann presented ten clear examples where the Bush administration had issued terror alerts days after politically damaging revelations and questioned the credibility of each of the alleged plots’ authenticity in light of astounding evidence to the contrary.

Olbermann overwhelmingly documents the staged timing of terror alerts spanning back four years and ends by scrutinizing the latest alleged liquid bomb plot – an operation infiltrated and surveilled for months by intelligence agencies, yet announced to the public on a carefully scripted pre-arranged schedule.

Note that this piece is done while supposed news shows like 20/20 do shows on the rapture and the end of times. Of course, nobody watches Olberman.

Meanwhile the London liquid bombers appear to be like the dummies in the warehouse — dumb blowhards. Great.

I’m surprised Bush didn’t break into a big grin when he heard the news.

  2. Dan Cassaro says:

This would be the same Kieth Olbermann that “exposed” voter fraud in highly Democratic counties in Florida that voted for Bush in 2004? Of course, if he knew anything about Florida, he’d know that the Georgia and Alabama border counties are as rural and conservative as you’ll find in Florida. 10 minutes with Google would have told him that.
He has no credibility, at least for me, when discussing politics. Perhaps he should go back to sportscasting, and uncover the “conspiracy” to keep the Cubs out of the World Series.

wtf?? The U.S. was attacked by the Japanese on December 7, 1941. The U.S. declared war on Japan December 8, 1941.

What history book are you reading??

In regards for my post #28:

I am truly sorry I woke up the trolls. I forgot how they like to rewrite history. Please forgive me, I will try not to do this again.

    31. It should also be noted that Germany had a real atom bomb program, so the paralell is rather inexact …

  6. Max says:

Ha! Dates and dates and more dates – I guess I’m one of the knee-jerks, but I really didn’t see a connection between when “terror” events were announced and Bush Administration “bad Press” was revelaed. As I see it, this administration is constantly under attack from the media (a practice they pride themselves on as being the watchdog of democracy). In fact, I defy anyone to show me a Bush Admin. stroy that wasn’t critical of the President. Now, if those stories are coming out on a daily, or better yet, weekly basis, doesn’t stand to reason that someone will be able to correlate that with other goings on in the world? It’s like trying to predict the stock market by how many hits the Yankee’s have the night before – Wait! I should try that. I’m sure there’s a correlation there somewhere! I’ll be rich!

Idiots – And comparing Obermann, a former sportscaster, to 20/20 in it’s hey-day… Yeah – I guess that’s fair. Right… (That’s sarcasim for those without the ability to recognise it…)

  7. Max says:

    John –

Quick history lesson – We invade Afganistan first – not Iraq. Iraq was in response to a percieved growing threat and a blantent disregard for UN (I shiver when I say “UN”) resolutions. Amazing how some can tailor history to affect their views. What I just stated is fact. Go ahead and try to prove otherwise.

    Unleash the liberal dogs NOW!

  8. Mike Voice says:

    31 Pearl Harbor
    – U.S. Attacked by Japanese
    – U.S. Attacked Germany then Japanese in response.

Could that be because the Japanese attack did severe damage to our Pacific fleet – specifically to keep us from interfering with their own plans in the Pacific?

Made it tough for us to attack Japan, until we had our fleet rebuilt – and developed those two atomic bombs.

  9. Beeblebrox says:

What history book are you reading??

Haven’t you heard of the right-wing disdain for the “reality based community.” They prefer to invent their own reality that backs up what they already believe.

In fact, the US declared war on Japan on December 8, 1941 in response to Pearl Harbor. Germany and Italy then declared war on the US. The US then declared war on Germany in Italy on December 11, 1941 in response.

  10. Beeblebrox says:

You guys can’t have it both ways. In one breath the Libs say how stupid Bush is. Next day you whine about Bush’s “masterful precision”.

I, for one, would never claim that Bush was “masterful” at anything but sticking his head up his own ass.

But at the same time, Cons can’t have it both ways either. Cons can’t argue that Bush’s war has made us safer while whining about how we should be constantly afraid of attacks at any moment, even from frickin’ liquids on airplanes.

  11. Beeblebrox says:

Btw, there should be a new Godwin’s law:

“As an online criticism of Bush grows longer, the probability that some right-winger will blame Clinton for something approaches one.”

  12. Jim says:

John – thanks very much for recommending Keith Oberman’s COUNTDOWN show a few months ago. COUNTDOWN takes the top story of the day and provides a lot more detail than the evening news has time for.

  13. Pekuliar says:

Five years, no attack on the homeland, liberals take this accomplishment as there is no threat other than the one manufactured by the cons. And they seriously want to be in charge of this country.

By the way if there was an attack they would be the first ones screaming about Bush’s failure to connect the dots!

  14. doug says:

#45. How many other 5 year periods have there been without an attack on the US? Plenty. Nothing to brag about.

In fact, the citizens of London and Madrid might take exception to a characterization of the last 5 years as being a success.

And yes, whoever is in the Oval Office if and when there is another major terrorist attack will take it on the chin for not preventing it. As they should. I do know that, if it happens while there is a Republican president, the party of “personal responsibility” will begin its whiney refrain once again:

“Who knew the levies would break?!?”

“But everyone thought there was WMD!”

“Who knew there’d be an insurgency?!?”

“It’s not my fault! Can I have my Medal of Freedom now?”

The first attack was in Tunisia.

    #47. Um, no –

February 1, 1942 – First U.S. aircraft carrier offensive of the war as YORKTOWN and ENTERPRISE conduct air raids on Japanese bases in the Gilbert and Marshall Islands.

April 18, 1942 – Surprise U.S. ‘Doolittle’ B-25 air raid from the HORNET against Tokyo boosts Allied morale.

June 4-5, 1942 – Turning point in the war occurs with a decisive victory for the U.S. against Japan in the Battle of Midway as squadrons of U.S. torpedo planes and dive bombers from ENTERPRISE, HORNET, and YORKTOWN attack and destroy four Japanese carriers, a cruiser, and damage another cruiser and two destroyers. U.S. loses YORKTOWN.

August 7, 1942 – The first U.S. amphibious landing of the Pacific War occurs as 1st Marine Division invades Tulagi and Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands.

August 8, 1942 – U.S. Marines take the unfinished airfield on Guadalcanal and name it Henderson Field after Maj. Lofton Henderson, a hero of Midway.

then, a couple of months later –

Nov 8, 1942 – Operation Torch begins (U.S. invasion of North Africa).
