Relenza-Biota Holdings All of a sudden numerous people are coming down with a weird flu that starts with a mild cough then degenerates into a miserable flu situation and a lingering cough. It’s knocking people out left and right. For a few years there has been this remarkable flu medicine on the market, but it seems poorly marketed no thanks to the partners. The product was developed in Australia and I suspect that in the normal way business operates, the bigger pharmcos are just going to wait until the patent ends. If you begin using it within 48 hours of onset, it turns the flu into a mild cold without the sore throat. That’s my experience and heaven forbid that I am pretending to know anything at all since I am no doctor and do not pretend to be one and cannot actually recommend any such course of treatment (does that cover the legal stuff? I hope so. Read about it yourself). This much I know: You nearly have to beg a doctor to prescribe it since there are no salesmen pushing the product. Ask yourself why you’ve never heard of it. In my opinion since you only have 48 hours to begin treatment, you should always have some on hand. The drawback is that it’s very pricey. It depends on what your time is worth.
Biota’s Relenza — (Zanamivir) represents a new class of antiviral drugs and a new way to treat the influenza virus, more commonly known as “the flu”. Relenza works simply and directly by preventing the spread of influenza from one cell to another within the respiratory tract. To target the site of infection directly, Relenza is inhaled to the airways where the flu virus replicates. With this approach, the medication begins to function within seconds to immobilise and kill the influenza virus.
I like that disclaimer. It’s wonderful.
Speaking of world class bullshit, how come you run across kids with tons of acne? Since there are various medications that clear up that problem, why don’t schools have a “gee, you know you don’t need to be a scarred for life pizzaface” class after sex ed. where they point out that this is a very easy problem to solve.
I don’t see the point in some of these unfortunate kids having low self-esteem.
Well, I’ve known about it for the two years of which you speak, I didn’t think people didn’t know about it.
The problem that I see is that if you take it after 48 hours it is useless and it’s difficult to tell that you’ve got the flu for the first 48 hours. So it seems kind of useless to me. Plus there is a problem of people asking for medications when they will do no good, like after the 48 hour period.
If you’re worried about the flu get a flu shot and I think you’re better off.
I know a lot of people who will pound Vitamin C, Ecinacea, Golden Seal, etc, like beer at a Frat Party, if they think they are getting sick.
Why not do that with something that could actually work.
One of my daughters got accutane treatment for acne a couple of years ago. It cost over $700.00, which is prohibitive for many kids. It is supposed to have terrible side effects, particularly the possibility of birth defects. She had to have a negative pregnancy test for two months before they’d start treatment, even though she said she had not been sexually active. Then of course she had to show them a new negative test each month. Insurance doesn’t pay for the doctor bills or the medications, because it’s cosmetic. Recently she had to start accutane again because of a bad bout with acne. She’s since turned 18 and is handling it herself, and she says that the medication itself is much cheaper. I don’t know – maybe somebody came out with a generic.
